The National Weather Service Storm Survey Team has concluded recent storm damage near Warner was caused by a tornado.
The damage occurred the afternoon of July 9th when thunderstorms produced a small tornado that damaged part of a church near Warner in Muskogee County. Eye witnesses reported seeing a funnel cloud near the area and the damage assessment team found damage consistent with that produced by a tornado.
The tornado had a path length of about 1\4 mile and a width of 50 yards. Wind speeds of 90 to 95 mph were estimated and the tornado was rated EF1.
