NEW YORK (AP) _ A helicopter crashed into the Hudson River between New York City and New Jersey on Saturday, and at least two people were rescued, police said.
No deaths or injuries were immediately reported, police said. Witnesses reported seeing the helicopter, which had pontoons, go straight down into the water.
A boat apparently rescued at least two people from the aircraft after it went down about 5 p.m., according to a police spokesman in Weehawken, N.J.
Red rescue rafts motored over from Manhattan, and pleasure boats in the area made U-turns and headed downriver to avoid the area.
