WIMBLEDON, England (AP) _ Wimbledon resumes this morning with the resumption of several matches that began yesterday. Second-seed Rafael Nadal wasn't able to finish his match with Robin Soderling as rain shut things down with the score 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (7), 4-6, 2-0 in favor of Nadal. Fourth seed Nicolas Djokovic, sixth seed Nikolay Davydenko and number-16 Lleyton Hewitt were leading their matches when play was stopped.
Number-seven Tomas Berdych advanced to the fourth round yesterday, as did tenth seed Marcos Baghdatis, Mikhail Youzhnyand Jonas Bjorkman.
Third seed Andy Roddick is part of today's schedule.
Over to the women's side, where top seed Justine Henin and number-seven Serena Williams were among those advancing to the women's quarterfinals yesterday.
Henin had little trouble with Patty Schnyder, ousting the 15th seed 6-2, 6-2. Henin next faces Williams, who battled a strained calf before completing a 6-2, 6-7, 6-2 triumph over number-ten Daniela Hantuchova.
American Laura Granville fell short of reaching the quarterfinals, losing to Michaella Krajicek 6-3, 6-4.
Venus Williams needed three sets to win her third-round match, but number-12 Elena Dementieva was beaten by Austrian Tamira Paszek 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Fifth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova won her third-round match in straight sets, as did sixth seed Ana Ivanovic, number-14 Nicole Vaidisova and number-eleven Nadia Petrova.
Petrova takes on Ivanovic on court two today. Venus Williams is in action against second seed Maria Sharapova on Centre Court after Vaidisova plays number-three Amelie Mauresmo.
