Looking for a little piece of statuary to finish off the landscape? The News On 6â€™s Rick Wells has found a place in Skiatook with statuary large and small. He reports on Oklahoma statuary king of the concrete jungle.

The Skiatook Statuary has been making its concrete statues for 40 years; theyâ€™re the biggest producer in a five state area, easily one of the biggest in the country.

"We have more copyrighted pieces than anywhere in the U.S.,â€ said Chester Reyckert with the Skiatook Statuary.

They've grown because people build the pieces into their landscape.

"People start out with a bird bath, then they decide they want a bench to sit on, then running water," Reyckert said.

One customer says she likes to look at angels when she comes to the statuary. The Russians liked them too, some of the angels were shipped to Russia about ten years ago. They wanted the Skiatook Statuary to start producing them over there, but it didn't happen.

The concrete statues start with a fiberglass shell, then a rubber mold is made and concrete is poured in. When the piece comes out of the mold it is cleaned up by hand, and some of them eventually get a paint job.
