HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) _ An assistant coach at Oklahoma is being hired as head softball coach at Southern Mississippi. Southern Miss announced Wednesday Howard Dodson will replace Gay McNutt who resigned after seven years as head coach of the Golden Eagles.
Dodson has been at OU for five years and before that he established a softball program at Houston. He's also coached at Southeastern Louisiana and McNeese State.
