A pastor from the Church of God in Wagoner fired three shots into a large crowd early Sunday morning. It happened at the church's fireworks tent in Muskogee. Muskogee's Assistant Police Chief tells the News On 6, the youth pastor John Donnelly and a 17-year-old member of the church were watching the tent overnight, when a large group showed up.
Muskogee Police say some of the group snuck into the tent, while the others confronted the pastor. Police say members of the group assaulted the teen, and that's when the Pastor John Donnelly opened fire.
One adult in the group, Darnelle Gilbert, was hit in the chest. He was taken to the hospital. There's no word on his condition Sunday night.
The 17-year-old was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
We're told there are four juveniles in custody and one adult and more arrests are possible.
