GROVE, Okla. (AP) -- For the second straight day, Kevin VanDam catches more than 20 pounds, extending his lead to almost three pounds in the Bassmaster Elite Series' Sooner Run Friday on Grand Lake.
VanDam, who is from Kalamazoo, Michigan, has a two-day total of 43 pounds, 3 ounces. Series rookie Marty Robinson of Landrum, South Carolina, is in second at 40 pounds, 5 ounces after catching 20 pounds, 5 ounces today.
Edwin Evers of Talala, fishing in his home state, jumped into third at 37 pounds, 13 ounces.
Boyd Duckett of Demopolis, Alabama, and the 2006 event winner, Mike McClelland of Bella Vista, Arkansas, round out the top five.
The event will continue through Sunday.
