OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The director of the state Department of Emergency Management says people who bought generators during the recent ice storm are NOT likely to be reimbursed by the federal government. Albert Ashwood says the Federal Emergency Management Agency has not indicated it would pay for the generators although the government did cover those costs after an ice storm in 2002.
Ashwood says if people buying a generator were told they could be reimbursed by FEMA he'd like to know which retailers made such a claim.
The government has approved disaster aid for 25 counties to help local governments pay for debris removal and to repair things such as roads, bridges and buildings.
A separate disaster declaration to help individuals and businesses is still pending.
