WEWOKA, Okla. (AP) -- A Tulsa lawyer facing a first-degree manslaughter complaint in the death of his law partner will serve as pallbearer at his friend's funeral on Friday. Thirty-three-year-old Kenneth Morgan was arrested and jailed after a traffic accident that killed Andre Carolina early Saturday.
Carolina died from injuries he suffered when Morgan lost control of his sports car, allegedly while racing, and veered into oncoming traffic in southwest Tulsa. Morgan posted bail and was released later that day.
Ron Sosbee is Carolina's father-in-law. Sosbee says Morgan was Carolina's best friend and the family wants Morgan to be a pallbearer. Sosbee says Carolina's wife, Natalie, has forgiven Morgan.
Police say the friends had gone out and were headed for another club Saturday morning when Morgan began racing with a motorist driving a sports car. Police say Morgan lost control of his car and hit a sport utility vehicle. The SUV's occupants weren't seriously injured.
