CHICAGO (AP) _ About 3,900 ComEd customers remain without power a day after strong winds swept northeast Illinois.

ComEd spokesman Joe Trost says the company's goal is to restore power by the end of the day. Utility crews have restored power to more than 225,000 customers since Sunday morning.

Winds that gusted up to 70 miles per hour felled trees and scattered limbs, downed power lines and even tore the roof off a house in Chicago.

More than 300 flights were canceled at O'Hare International Airport on Sunday and delays averaged between two and three hours. Across town at Midway, all flights were delayed around an hour.
