MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- Muskogee officials are continuing to interview candidates for the city's vacant city manager position. The first round of interviews concluded Saturday, but it's not known if the field of five candidates was narrowed as a result.
City Councilor Janey Cagle Boydston says a second round of interviews may not be limited to those five candidates, whose identities have not been made public.
The person chosen for the job will replace Walt Beckham, who is retiring after spending almost 25 years as Muskogee's city manager.
Mayor Wren Stratton says the search process is proceeding in a timely manner. An item on the agenda for Wednesday's city council meeting would allow for an executive session to discuss the appointment of a new city manager.
