Man Arrested Following Overnight Chase And Accident

A man could face charges after a traffic stop turned police chase ends with a head-on collision. Tulsa Police say at around 12:45 am Thursday, police officers tried to stop a man in a Trailblazer after he hit a police car near Apache & Peoria. The Trailblazer headed south on Peoria and got on I-244 going eastbound in the westbound lanes. After just a few minutes, he hit a Ford Explorer head-on near Delaware.

Both drivers were taken to Tulsa hospitals with minor injuries. No one else was hurt in the accident.

Tulsa Police found drugs and a gun in the suspect's vehicle.

Because of the accident, the westbound lanes of I-244 were shut down for about two hours early Thursday.
