Some of Tulsa's bravest give a helping hand to a Tulsa elementary school. The firefighters of Station 22 gave more than a thousand dollars to the kids at Jones Elementary School to help stock the classrooms with winter clothes.
The firefighters say teachers and principals best understand what kids need in order to learn.
"An example would be if they have a spill or a tear or dirty clothes they can get something out of the clothing closet. Instead of having to go home or have a parent who would have to leave their only job and lose income just to come up here and take care of clothing. The kids need to be clean, dry and comfortable. It helps them learn,†said Tulsa Fire Captain Michael Baker.
The firefighters say they walk across the street to the school and just hang out or have lunch with the kids.
