The American Red Cross is trying to recoup units of blood lost because of the winter storm. Because of the widespread power outages, many drives were canceled and many donors were not able to make their appointments.

The American Red Cross is hosting two emergency blood drives on Saturday. One blood drive is being held in the center court of Tulsa’s Woodland Hills Mall until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday

A second emergency blood drive is being held at the Cherokee Casino in Catoosa. That blood drive runs from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Sunday, The American Red Cross is sponsoring a blood drive at Promenade Mall from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Jan Hale, with the American Red Cross, says with the approaching holidays, blood must be collected now to be sure there is enough on the shelves for area hospitals.
