OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Attorney General Drew Edmondson is warning of possible scams by people going door-to-door and offering to clean up debris from the ice storms. Edmondson says his office is already hearing that people are going house-to-house offering to clean up tree limbs for a fee.
He says that may seem convenient but to be wary of hiring a stranger instead of a known business. Edmondson says residents should get a detailed written contract that includes all costs and specifies the starting and completion dates.
And, he warns to never pay a large amount of money up front.
