TAFT, Okla. (AP) -- A former Taft town trustee has filed an Open Meetings Act complaint against the mayor and town clerk. Lelia Davis is accusing Mayor Patricia Springs of ousting her from her position because Davis hadn't completed training required by law.

Davis says Springs referred to a state law requiring every official elected to a municipal position for the first time after January 1st, 2005, to complete a training class. Davis has been elected to the board of trustees at different times over several decades, the last time being in 2004.

Muskogee County District Attorney Larry Moore says the law doesn't apply to Davis because she wasn't elected "for the first time" after it went into effect.

Springs says that conclusion is Moore's opinion and that she would look into it.

Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson said he will forward the results of his investigation to Moore when it is complete.
