'Tis the season for twinkling lights, and beautiful holiday displays, at least it was until last weekend. The ice storm damaged or destroyed many residential and commercial displays. What the ice storm didn’t get, the power outages did. The News On 6’s Rick Wells reports some, rather than cursing the darkness, are blaming the Grinch.

We've been Grinched, here in T-ville. We've been Grinched all right. The Grinch came to T-ville and stole all our light.

Don Ridenour stands in his front yard surveying the tangled limbs and lights that made up part of his display.

“I was lucky to have left what I do. This one had 9000 lights,” said Don Ridenour of one of his trees that will now have to be cut down.

It is the same story out at Rhema. Millions of lights that people look forward to seeing are off now and some are even being taken down. When the lights are on it's a must-see display, but no one is sure if the lights will be back on this year.

At Utica Square, the lights-on ceremony on Thanksgiving evening is a holiday tradition. Shopping's more festive under a canopy of light. Now so many lights are down and trees damaged, the folks at Utica Square are not sure what the rest of the season will look like.

Don Ridenour has his work cut out for him.

”My main thing is getting these two trees down and out of here, then firing it up and see what works,” said Tulsan Don Ridenour.

He turned the main display on Thanksgiving, like always and continued to fine tune it. He thought he was finished.

“Mother Nature told me wrong,” said Don Ridenour.
