OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Southeast High School in Oklahoma City is locked down while police search for a man following a shooting that left another man with several gunshot wounds. Captain Steve McCool says the incident began just before noon Friday when an officer stopped a stolen car near the school and two men ran from the car into a nearby business.
McCool says the officer arrested both men but as he was handcuffing one the second pulled a gun and opened fire and both again ran from the scene.
McCool says other officers found the gunman hiding behind a nearby business and when he refused to drop his gun the officers shot him numerous times. He's now hospitalized with what McCool says appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
The second man remains at large and has a handcuff on at least one hand.
