UNDATED (AP) _ Former University of Tulsa football player Todd Hays says he's ending a brief retirement from bobsledding.

Hays is one of the most decorated bobsled drivers to ever compete for the United States and says he wants one more shot at the Olympics.

His next chance will be the 2010 games in Vancouver.

The 38-year-old Hays drove a four-man sled to a silver medal in the 2002 Olympics to give the U.S. its first men's bobsledding medal in 46 years. He announced his retirement after the 2006 Olympics but now says administrative changes at the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation makes him believe he has a chance to win a gold medal.

Hays says he isn't fully committed to a comeback yet and will spend the year training to decide if he wants to return.

Hays was a linebacker and a captain on the 1991 TU football team that went 10-2 and won the Freedom Bowl.
