Northeastern State University President Larry Williams has announced he will retire from the school effective June 30. Williams has been on medical leave due to complications from a heart attack in March. Williams has served more than 10 years as NSU's president.
Williams began his administrative career in higher education at Oklahoma State University in 1967. NSU vice president for administration Kim Cherry has been serving as acting president since last spring.
The search for a new chief executive officer at NSU will begin soon.
