Some people say the only way to find the perfect Christmas tree is to do it the old fashioned way, go out and cut it down yourself. The News On 6’s Rick Wells reports there is a farm in Sand Springs that offers the Christmas tree and a day in the country for the whole family.
Pleasant Valley Farms owner Randy Owens says some difficulties were presented by all the rain this year.
"It was a tough year all the way around on all the crops," said Randy Owens.
Of course that doesn't mean there aren't any Christmas trees. He says he has a couple of thousand ready for the season.
"There's a large variety, tall, short, fat, skinny," said Owens.
He says some folks come out and find their perfect tree in about 15 minutes.
"Some of them come out looking for the Charlie Brown tree," said Owens.
You can cut it yourself or they will do it for you. They'll shake out the loose needles and load it up for you. While you wait, there's Bar-B-Q and a gift shop with all kinds of crafty gift ideas.
Pleasant Valley Farms is located at 22350 W. 71st S. in Sand Springs. You can reach them by calling 918-248-5647.
