More than 800 members of the Oklahoma Army National Guard’s 45th Fires Brigade will be deployed to Iraq next summer. The Enid-based unit will undergo training at Camp Gruber next month.
The 2,600 members of the 45th Infantry are undergoing combat training in Texas, and training will be difficult and limited during Oklahoma’s winter, says the commander of the unit.
The brigade contains units in Altus, Anadarko, Chickasha, Clinton, Duncan, Elk City Hobart, Lawton, Marlow, Walters and Weatherford.
