THACKERVILLE, Okla. (AP) -- An 18-year-old Thackerville resident was killed on Sunday when his car spun out of control on a Love County highway. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the victim as Justin Ray Joiner.
Troopers say the one-vehicle crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 77 about one-half mile north of the Thackerville city limits. The patrol says Joiner's car was southbound and was going to fast when it encountered an "S" curve. The car left the roadway and the driver over corrected, causing the vehicle to go into a broadslide before striking a tree on the driver's side door.
The victim was pinned in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was ejected from the car and was admitted to a hospital in serious condition
