The majority of the faculty at Oral Roberts University surveyed at a meeting on Monday does not believe that Richard Roberts should continue as president. The News On 6’s Ashli Sims reports 80% of the faculty polled were not in favor of Richard Roberts returning to the helm. The president’s attorney, however, remains optimistic that Richard Roberts will once again lead the university.
A sense of discontent continues to percolate at Oral Roberts University. Last week, the tenured faculty approved a vote of no support against Richard Roberts. Now a survey of the full faculty has also come out against Roberts.
Richard Robert's attorney Frank Hagedorn says Roberts has a great deal of respect for the faculty, but it’s the Oral Roberts University Board of Regents that will decide the fate of Richard Roberts. And, they feel very optimistic that Roberts will be reinstated.
ORU's faculty also responded to a question about the university's financial disclosure and accountability. Nearly 90 percent said it was not adequate. Richard Robert's attorney says Robert's is committed to financial transparency if he's reinstated. The board of regents is expected to make that decision next Tuesday.
