OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Texas Rangers announced on Monday that they will bring back Bobby Jones as manager of their Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City.
The 58-year-old Jones led the Oklahoma RedHawks team to a 71-72 record last season after returning to the ballclub following a season as an assistant coach for the Rangers.
He also managed the RedHawks from 2002-2005 and the now-defunct Oklahoma City 89ers in 1993 and 1994. His 492 wins are the most of any minor-league manager in the city's history.
The RedHawks won three division titles in his first stint with the club.
Pitching coach Andy Hawkins, hitting coach Randy Whisler and trainer Lee Slagle also will return for the 2008 season.
