IRVING, Texas (AP) - Oklahoma State senior defensive back Nathan Peterson has been named the Big 12's defensive player of the week.
Peterson enjoyed a career night in OSU's 45-14 victory against Baylor. Peterson, a Tulsa native, matched a career-best with three sacks and tallied a personal-high five tackles for losses in a six-tackle performance for the Cowboys.
It's the first time Peterson has been recognized with player of the week honors.
Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell was recognized as co-offensive player of the week. Harrell passed for two scores and rushed for another in leading Texas Tech to a 34-27 win over No. 3 Oklahoma. Harrell completed 47 of 72 attempts for 420 yards in becoming the fifth player in NCAA history to throw for over 5,000 yards in a season.
