NEW YORK (AP) -- Some headaches for train travelers on the Northeast corridor on Sunday.
Amtrak and NJ Transit service between Newark and Manhattan's Penn Station were suspended due to damaged overhead wires.
An NJ Transit spokesman said a train encountered overhead wire problems a little before 9 a.m. Eastern. The damage forced the closure of one of the Hudson River tunnels leading to the station.
The other tunnel was already closed for scheduled maintenance.
Authorities say a train had to be halted in a tunnel under the Hudson River for nearly two hours. Passengers were eventually transferred onto another train in the tunnel.
