A Tulsa hospital reportedly fired a male nurse after two patients claimed they were raped while at the hospital. Police reports indicate two women reported being raped in their rooms on the same floor at Saint Francis Hospital. The first sexual assault reportedly happened on August 11th. The second one was reported on August 13th, but the victim has said the attack occurred between July 25th and July 28th.
Saint Francis Health System has issued a written statement regarding the situation. In the writing, the hospital claims to have taken immediate action once the allegations were known. The statement reads that the police were notified, the accused employee was suspended, an internal investigation was conducted, and then the accused male nurse was terminated.
In 2002, several months after the nurse was hired, there was reportedly an allegation of sexual misconduct made against him. The matter was investigated, but reportedly the results were inconclusive so the nurse was allowed to return to work.
The attacks are reportedly the subject of an anonymous lawsuit filed in Tulsa County District Court. So far, no criminal charges have been filed in the case.
