Fire sweeps through a home under renovation near downtown early Tuesday morning. The fire happened at 10th and Quincy.

Firefighters responded to a number of calls about the fire around 3:40 AM. No one was inside at the time. The home was destroyed and the house next door sustained about $10,000 in damage from the heat.

Officials say the property had been condemned at one time but was purchased and the new owners were fixing it up.

The cause is under investigation.
