OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says it's always difficult to handle players' off-the-field issues.

Stoops says he conducted his own investigation before dismissing defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek after Dvoracek was involved in a bar altercation.

Stoops says there's a fine line that coaches have to be careful not to cross while trying to find out what happened.

Dvoracek was an all-Big 12 selection and third-team All-American last season.
