ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) -- A group of Chickasaw Indians want the tribe to share profits from gaming, smoke shops and other businesses with the tribe's registered voters.
The Chickasaw Alliance is proposing that each tribal voter get $5,000 in tribal profits.
Alliance President Jerry Imotichey says if the tribe's leaders can give themselves unlimited pay raises it's only fair that tribal members get a share of the money.
The tribal legislature last year increased tribal Governor Bill Anoatubby's salary from $100,000 to $300,000 a year. The legislature increased its own salaries at the same time.
