MOORE, Okla. (AP) -- A 22-year-old worker at a Sonic restaurant here was shot in the chest early Sunday during a robbery as he was closing the business for the night, according to Moore police.
The victim, Jarrid Bishop of Oklahoma City, was taken to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, said Moore Police Sgt. Scott Singer.
"It appears the victim will recover," Singer said. "But the wound was fairly serious and required some repair."
The victim told police a black man entered the building through a back door, shot him once in the chest with a handgun and then left with the day's receipts, police said.
The suspect was wearing a black hood and black pants.
"We collected several videos from area surveillance cameras, and we hope to learn a little bit more from that," Singer said.
