Jared Gordon was only 15 years old when the terror attacks occurred. He says he was deeply affected by the events of 9-11 and says it was one of the reasons he joined the marine corps.

The 18 year old began his first day back in Tulsa with friends and church members of the Victory Christian Academy where he attended school. Gordon entered the service in March when he turned 18. A week after his high school graduation, it was off to Camp Pendleton, California for boot camp. He says the events of three years ago are still very vivid in his mind.

Private Jared Gordon US Marine "I can see the planes slamming into the towers. I didn't know anyone, just the fact that they did that to my country. That's what made me join."
Gordon plans to relax with his family members who are proud to have him home. He's on a 10 day leave before he goes back to Camp Pendleton for 12 weeks of combat training. He hopes to attend O-U this Spring while carrying out his duty as a reservist with the 3rd Battalion, Lima Company.
