Some Tulsa students were treated to a story Friday from an award winning author.

Newbery Medal winner Susan Cooper, creator of "The Dark is Rising" series read to students at Chouteau Elementary School Friday.

Cooper is in Tulsa to receive the 2004 Zarrow Award. That honor carries a $7,500 cash prize and is given to nationally acclaimed authors who've made a significant contribution to young readers' literature.
