An easier commute on I-44 in Tulsa may be a mile closer to reality.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission has approved a program which includes more than $67-million for widening I-44 from Riverside Drive to Yale Avenue.

The program also includes funds to widen State highway 20 in Tulsa to five lanes from US highway 169 four miles east through 209th East Avenue.

The money could come from bonds backed by anticipated federal dollars.
