HEALDTON, Okla. (AP) -- Healdton Police arrest one man and identify others in a rash of vandalism that's plagued a local cemetery for two weeks.
Police Chief Brian Huckabee says 20-year-old Brian Gonzales is in the Carter County jail and five juveniles may also be involved.
Huckabee says headstones at Mount Olive Cemetery were pushed over, damaged or destroyed.
He says some of the damaged tombstones date back to 1900 and others were five to 10 years old and older.
Huckabee said damages range from between $500 and $700 each. Between $45,000 and $80,000 in damage has been done.
He says officers began interviewing individuals Sunday night. Investigators got a break when one person made a statement Monday morning.
