OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Ethics Commission is issuing a third public reprimand Wednesday to Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher for violating ethics rules.
The reprimand is for using his office to solicit a custom desk valued at more than $4,000 and a credenza valued at about $6,000.
The reprimand comes a day after a House committee report recommended the impeachment of Fisher for neglect of duty, corruption and incompetency.
Fisher denied personally soliciting the furnishings, but says he thought the gifts were a good thing for the state because they saved money for taxpayers.
He said no one ever asked a favor of the insurance agency for donations of furniture.
