OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Six current and former female employees of the Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Oklahoma City will share in a 535-thousand dollar settlement of a sexual harassment lawsuit.
The settlement was announced today by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The EEOC alleged in its lawsuit that the women were called sexual names by co-workers and supervisors. The suit also alleges that when the women asked for the harassment to stop, they were told by a supervisor that there was nothing that could be done.
Under the agreement with the EEOC, the company also agrees to train its employees on sexual harassment and post a complaint procedure.
A spokesman for the company says he cannot comment because of a confidentiality agreement.
