LONDON (AP) _ Real Madrid soccer star David Beckham and his wife, Victoria, are expecting their third child in March, the couple announced Sunday.

``This is fantastic news. We are both absolutely delighted. We are planning to have the baby in Spain,'' the couple said in a joint statement.

Victoria Beckham, 30, a former Spice Girl, has delivered two sons: Brooklyn, 5, and Romeo, 2.

The marriage of Britain's No. 1 celebrity couple came under strain in April when a former personal aide, Rebecca Loos, claimed she and Beckham had had a 10-day affair.

He dismissed the claim as ``ludicrous'' and ``absurd.''
