WILBURTON, Okla. (AP) _ Former Oklahoma assistant baseball coach Aric Thomas is the new head coach at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.

Thomas replaces Todd Shelton who resigned to join the staff at Oral Roberts.

Thomas is hiring former OU volunteer assistant Brian Hickman as an assistant at Eastern.

Thomas, Hickman and Sooner pitching coach Ray Hayward were not retained by OU after the 2004 season.
