OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Health care officials have done such a good job recruiting nursing students they now need more nursing teachers.

The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing received nearly 370 applications this year. But just 120 were accepted to the Oklahoma City campus and about 80 at Lawton and Tulsa because of a shortage of faculty.

Nursing school officials at Oklahoma City University and the University of Central Oklahoma say they have similar problems, and say a lack of hospital space for nurse training contributes to the problem.
