A 17 year-old boy is in the hospital after slamming into a stoplight pole near Admiral and Memorial early Wednesday morning.

The teen hit it so hard; it shook two of the signal lights from the pole. Traffic was shut down in the intersection while crews repaired the light. Officers are still investigating the single car accident.

Investigators say alcohol was not involved.

The teenâ€™s injuries are not considered life threatening.
