One man is in serious condition after being involved in an early Monday morning accident. Authorities say it happened just before 2 AM on the Sand Springs Expressway.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded first but called for back up when they realized the severity of the crash. OHP trooper Tyler Jack: “A vehicle that was traveling westbound on US 64. It ran off the road, and struck the guard rail first. Then went on its side, striking the sign poles right over here.â€
It took crews nearly an hour to cut the man out of his pick-up truck. He suffered severe injuries and most likely shattered both of his legs. He was taken by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital.
Alcohol may be a factor in the accident.
