OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Supreme Court has ruled that a Norman woman's name will appear on the November general election ballot in the Fourth Congressional District race.

The court voted 5-to-3 Friday to allow Charlene Bradshaw to run as an independent candidate against Republican incumbent Tom Cole.

The court overturned a 3-to-0 decision by the state Election Board to strike Bradshaw's name because she was still registered as a Republican.

The Election Board acted on a protest filed by Cole.

But Cole says he welcomes the court ruling. He congratulated Bradshaw and says he's looking forward to a campaign.
