In a crisis situation that involves children, it helps them to receive something that's comforting, like a stuffed animal.

Wednesday, Miss Oklahoma Teen, Stephanie Maclin presented the Tulsa Police Department with bags full of stuffed animals that were collected during the state pageant.

Stephanie says she personally knows how these toys will help a child through a scary situation. "I was in accident when I was little, I know kids like holding things."

The police officers received more than 50 stuffed animals Wednesday. Another organization has also been selected to receive toys later this week.
