Three people were killed in separate auto crashes Monday night in eastern and southern Oklahoma.

Michael E. Keigley, 27, of Twin Oaks, was killed in the first crash about 10:30 p.m. on an Adair County road, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Keigley was westbound at a high rate of sped when he lost control of his pickup truck in a curve and hit a tree.

Keigley was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the truck, which then landed on him, troopers said.

The second crash occurred just before 11:30 in southern Bryan County and left two Texans dead, the patrol said.

The crash occurred on U.S. 69 just north of the Oklahoma-Texas state line when a tractor-trailer rig driven by Shawn R. Wright, 29, of San Angelo, Texas, ran off the roadway, hit a culvert, an embankment then an overpass, troopers said.

The OHP said Wright was dead at the scene and a passenger, Amber D. Rose, 18, of Christoval, Texas, was taken to a Dallas hospital, where she died Tuesday morning.
