OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma City man is dead Monday after police shot him during an arrest attempt in the parking lot of an Oklahoma City convenience store.
Police say Gaylon Gene Boyd was killed Monday morning as members of the Metro Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest him on a first-degree murder charge.
Police say Boyd brandished what appeared to be a weapon and was shot by three members of the task force. He died later at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Boyd was charged last week with first-degree murder in connection with the April death of his 2-month-old son. Tavion Marcel Boyd died from internal injuries that prosecutors say was a result of shaken-baby syndrome.
