Tulsa car thefts continue early Friday morning in Tulsa, but this time, the suspects got away.
Authorities say just before 2 AM, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was passed by a car on I-244 without tail lights. When he tried to pull over the car, the driver sped off.
That led to a chase that ended in a Tulsa neighborhood near 100 North Victor.
OHP trooper Kim Dillenburg: "Car was still moving when the passenger bailed out, yes sir." News on 6 photojournalist Gary Kruse: "What about the driver?" Dillenburg: "The driver was still in the car with his door open. I was following the driver, and the driver bailed out".
Trooper Dillenburg was able to stop the car before it damaged any homes, but the suspects got away.
