Accident on I-44 in Tulsa shuts down traffic

An early Thursday morning accident shuts down part of I-44. Officers say a female driver was west bound on I-44 near the Garnett Bridge around 3:30 AM. <br/><br/>She apparently fell asleep at the wheel.

An early Thursday morning accident shuts down part of I-44. Officers say a female driver was west bound on I-44 near the Garnett Bridge around 3:30 AM.

She apparently fell asleep at the wheel. The truck took out a light pole before the delivery truck landed on its side. Motorists had to be diverted, backing up traffic for a couple of hours.

The driver suffered only minor injuries and should be â€˜ok.â€™ All lanes of traffic are now open.
