TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Eight University of Tulsa scholarship football players will not return when the team reports for preseason camp Aug. 8, head coach Steve Kragthorpe said Wednesday.
Among the eight are defensive backs Kedrick Alexander and Terrance Thomas, who both recently pleaded guilty to felony burglary charges.
They admitted they broke into a track athlete's dormitory room and stole property. Both had been suspended indefinitely by Kragthorpe.
Alexander led Tulsa in tackles as a sophomore last year. He also intercepted three passes and was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference second team.
Others not returning are tight end James Clancy; linebacker Shane Graham; defensive end Jammal McCulllar; defensive end Lui Saafi; defensive back C-J Scott; and linebacker Brendon Swisher.
Swisher graduated in May and will attend dental school, Kragthorpe said.
